Re: “Blood Sport in the Richmond Mayor's Race

When a Wednesday shopping, dining and sex-ad newspaper does it, it is called research. When public employees do it, it is "digging up dirt." The County never took over management of the City of Richmond. And the cops and firefighter contracts didn't create the $35M hole. You made that up. Just imagine if this newspaper had found out that Don Perata had, in 2003, gone into bankruptcy court and said "I'm crazy as a bag of squirrels and have been for years and years, please don't make me pay all these bills - $100,00 worth of I've racked up and promised to pay, I'm too crazy to work." You'd go nuts with a full front page "unflattering picture" of Perata and you'd spend a week or more digging up and confirming all the details you would then publish in a big nasty splashy hit-piece story. So, nice hypocrisy, typical biased and sloppy reporting, and what a nice big sloppy kiss for the Mayor. Just don't fool yourself into believing you don't do the same thing.
