Calling all hip-hop heads! A panel discussion is coming to Berkeley, an opportunity to hear from some of the influential DJs, artists, and historians discussing the “Golden Era” of hip-hop. Brian Coleman, author of Check the Technique Vols 1 & 2, will moderate a discussion between DJ Platurn (45 Sessions/Oakland Faders), Domino (Hieroglyphics), Eric Arnold (Oakculture), Prozack Turner (Foreign Legion / The Legionnaire Saloon), and Adisa Banjoko (Hip-Hop Chess Federation & author of Bobby, Bruce & The Bronx.) The chat will center around influential hip-hop records from the mid Eighties to Nineties, Bay Area music, and California artists. This is an opportunity to find out why certain records are highly regarded in the hip-hop universe, and how the genre’s golden era influenced a younger generation of artists. Not to be missed!
