Re: “Profiting from Eminent Domain

Low balled with the threat of eminent domain by a larger company to forcibly remove my uncle's title to the property he invested in 6 years ago if he does not play ball? In addition my father and him had eminent domain placed on them before, so that Sears not a highway or school could build their Tire Center which has not even broke ground yet? This was all done and backed by the US Supreme Court for the sake of economic development. If this is the pretense for local governments to seize property, this may lead to potentially more hazardous infringements on the civil liberties property owners have. The powers that be, may use the Supreme Court decision on eminent domain as a weapon, simply because the property owners may not be on par with their political beliefs.

You did not even attempt to contact my father Alex Hahn before publication. In the future, maybe you should follow your colleagues at the Express and try to gather the facts. That would be the ethical approach as an non biased journalist. We won't take it personal because you are just an intern at the Express that was probably rushed to get a story out.

Thank you,

Charles S. Hahn
