McEvoy Foundation for the Arts (MFA) presents 'certainty is becoming our nemesis,' guest curated by SF Cinematheque director Steve Polta. The program repeats hourly during regular gallery hours, February 7 - May 2, 2020. It accompanies the West Coast debut of the photography exhibition 'Orlando,' guest curated by Tilda Swinton and organized by Aperture, New York. The program of short experimental videos is informed by themes of transformation and self-invention, gender fluidity, performance, and family that are inspired by the Virginia Woolf's 1928 novel "Orlando." Together, they explore how the ambiguity of identity manifests as an emotional survival strategy.
