Center REPertory Theatre 2007-2008 Season: Nixon's Nixon

When: Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m., Sundays, 2:30 p.m. and Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. Continues through March 1 2008

New Center REPertory Company artistic director Michael Butler again revives the acclaimed production of Russell Lees' political satire Nixon's Nixon that he originally staged in 1997 at San Jose Rep (where his wife Timothy Near is artistic director). Unlike the 2006 San Jose Rep revival, the Center REP production features a new cast, with Andrew Hurteau (seen in Center REP'sLaughter on the 23rd Floor) as Nixon and Steve Irish (Aurora's Sex) as Henry Kissinger, meeting for one last late-night damage-control session before Nixon's resignation, inventing elaborate schemes to save his presidency and role-playing JFK and Chairman Mao. January 31 through March 1 at LesherCenter for the Arts (1601 Civic Dr., Walnut Creek).LesherArtsCenter.org or 925-943-7469.
