You say Rum TumTugger, I say Rumpleteazer -- let's call the whole thing off. Alas, that trick never works: Cats always comes back, even if its distinction as the longest-running musical of all time was finally one-upped last year on Broadway by another Andrew Lloyd Webber nightmare, The Phantom of the Opera, and on London's West End by Les Miz. Inspired by T.S. Eliot's book of children's poems, Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, Webber's 1982 spectacle features anthropomorphic cats in garish costumes cavorting around a garbage dump and caterwauling about memories. Good times. The Willows Theatre closes its mainstage season with the popular moneymaker, helmed by managing director Andrew F. Holtz. Through Dec. 30 at the Willows Theatre, or 925-798-1300.
