Carnival Games Day Critics' Pick Staff Pick

When: Thu., Aug. 21, 9:30 a.m. 2008
Price: free

Libraries are lots of fun just by being themselves, but Newark Library (6300 Civic Terrace Ave., Newark) amps up the excitement for visitors of all ages on August 21 by ringing out the end of the summer reading season with Carnival Games Day. Decorations, carnival games, prizes, root-beer floats, and other treats are enough to tempt even the most reluctant readers. Face-painting and craft booths add creativity to the old-style hilarity. 9:30 a.m.
