Most famous for his Danse Macabre, composer and virtuoso pianist Camille Saint-Saens originally created Le Carnaval des Animauxnot for public hearing but for the private amusement of his personal friends. Evoking a lively menagerie, the elegant whimsy will be performed on violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, percussion, and piano in UC Berkeley's Hertz Concert Hall on Wednesday, April 2 as part of the free Noon Concerts series. 12:15 p.m. Music.berkeley.edu
