California Families

When: Sun., May 11, 1 p.m. 2008
Price: free

What makes a family? Well, it starts with love, according to the Oakland Museum of California (1000 Oak St., Oakland), whose all-afternoon California Families program on Sunday, May 11, embraces all kinds of families, especially those with adopted, foster, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender members. Entertainment includes the Oakland East Bay Gay Men's Chorus, a magic show by Timothy Jones, games, film screenings, gold-panning, and workshops with folks from the Museum of Children's Art. 1 p.m., free.
