Cal Nets a Fundraising Fortune

It sounds hard to believe, but UC Berkeley officials have secured $100 million in donations during their latest fundraising cycle, despite the slumping economy. According to the Daily Californian, this represents the second-largest fundraising amount ever collected by the university. Since Schwarznegger has just announced $65 million in cuts to deal with the latest financial crisis, this couldn't come at a more opportune moment.
