.Cal Grads Fund Selfie Stick Alternative in 16 Hours

It's a sticky camera called Podo.

Yesterday, a primary team of three recent UC Berkeley graduates may have effectively (and thankfully) replaced the selfie stick when they launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a product called Podo. It’s a small camera that uses “micro-suction” technology (science!?!) to stick to any surface, and is controlled via bluetooth through an iPhone or Android app. It takes photos, videos, time-lapses, and even GIFs. Plus, it has a self-timer, LED flash and live preview —and it kind of looks like it came out of a Pixar movie. Ideal. No wonder the campaign reached it’s $50,000 goal in only 16 hours.

[embed-3] As of me writing this post, there are still 156 Podo camera’s left at the discounted early bird price of $79 through the Kickstarter. The cameras are slated to be delivered this August and will be on the market at the end of the year for $99. Likely just in time for your mom to buy you one for Christmas. (She knows you’ve been looking for a way to boost your Instagram game.)

Check out  a Tech Crunch video interview below to see how it works.
