So glad this is happening. Alternier Cook and June Grant are doers. Looking forward to assisting them and their supporters.

Re: “Developer Stiffs City on Permits for West Oakland Condo Project

Everyone should pay their fair share, even developers. How does one "mistakenly" attach a San Francisco permit? Really. In this case, developer is a four letter word.

Re: “Oakland Police Chief Doubles-Down on Promoting the Cops Who Covered-Up the Celeste Guap Case

The citizens of Oakland deserve better. Promoting higher ups involved in coverups tells me that the police department, even with a new chief, has not changed and has no intention of changing. The coup de grace is Coleman investigating police misconduct. OPD, Mayor Schafer and City Administrator Landreth don't seem to mind maintaining the status quo. What a shame!

Re: “Oakland Councilmembers Accuse Mayor Schaaf of 'Bait and Switch' With Soda Tax Revenue

This will not go unanswered. Our neighborhood campaigned for this tax on behalf of the children of Oakland. How dare Schaaf try to divert the funds. She'll pay at the ballot box!

Re: “The Beat Won’t Go On: Chicago Landlord Evicts Coffee With A Beat, Longtime Adams Point Shops

Truly a sad day in Oakland. A Chicago outfit, ugh. People coming from everywhere with no love for Oakland just using Oakland like a prostitute.

Re: “Lady Esther’s Rises Once Again, Now in Downtown Oakland

I went to elementary and junior high with Lady Esther's son and frequented her restaurant all the time. So glad the family is back! I was just lamenting that only a few old time soul food restaurants are even around. Now we've got three.
