Oakland's history as home to a diverse immigrant community is well documented, but perhaps never as dynamically as in the multimedia performance piece Burning Libraries, created by Helen Stoltzfus and Albert Greenberg, which sets thirty taped oral histories by Oakland elementary school students against dance, music, and aerial arts. The piece debuted to glowing reviews last month in San Francisco, and comes to the Laney CollegeTheater (900 Fallon St., Oakland) for its final Bay Area shows on Friday through Sunday, Dec. 3-5. Fri.-Sat. 8 p.m.; Sun. 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.; $15-$25. 510-762-2220 or
