Buddha's Birthday Celebration

He was a prince, but the man known today as Gautama Buddha or Shakyamuni Buddha cast off his wealth and sought enlightenment through meditation. At the Nyingma Institute (1815 Highland Pl., Berkeley) on Saturday, May 30, a celebration of Shakyamuni's birthday begins with a prayer and includes the chanting of a special mantra in his honor. 7 p.m NyingmaInstitute.org
