Re: “With Death Comes Comic Relief

No one is claiming that the weekly shipment of new comics is unimportant to the health of a comics shop. Quite the contrary. Nor is anyone claiming that Rory was without his flaws. Again, quite the contrary. Why "Comment" chooses to erect and demolish these straw men is beyond me. What is NOT beyond me is the obvious elephant-in-the-room: the current owners of Comic Relief have elected not to pay their bills to Diamond Comics Distributors and have therfore been cut off. Period. Any other suggestion for CR's woes is simple obfuscation.

Re: “With Death Comes Comic Relief

"One correction?" Only one??? The inaccuracies in this story are legion, as many have already noted. To suggest that the increased importance of trade paperbacks in the current comics marketplace might have had a negative impact on the stability of Comic Relief is beyond laughable: Rory Root was one of the very first retailers to champion Tpbs over "floppies," having served as one of his distributors back in the eighties I can attest to this fact personally. Please, Rachel, do a little more thorough job of researching before you bring a story like this into print!
