Brower Center Eight Months From Opening

The Trib has a quick update on the David Brower Center, the housing, parking, and environmental office park rising up in the middle of downtown Berkeley. Apparently, everyone's really excited that the building is now just eight months from being finished, and folks from near and far will clamor to get in see the desk made of reclaimed wood that sits in the atrium. Still, it's certainly better than the surface level parking lot that preceded it, what with its 97 affordable housing units, 99 parking space, and organic cafe. Although just why they're building new retail space when downtown can't even fill the space it's got now is something of a head-scratcher...
