Bowling For Soup

When: Wed., Feb. 3, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $16

Blink-182 may have set the bar for arrested development in the world of pop-punk, but Bowling for Soup has used this mindset to reap scads of commercial success. Despite the group's collective age being considerably closer to middle age versus tweenerville, Bowling for Soup still pumps out enough scatological humor, double entendres, and pop-culture references to appeal to even the most jaded teen. It also doesn't hurt that the Texas foursome is kid-friendly enough to have had its songs featured in cinematic vehicles like Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Sky High, and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. Currently touring behind the new album Sorry for Partyin', the band shows its penchant for silliness in songs like "My Wena" and "Hooray for Beer." Bowling for Soup, along with Just Surrender and Fight Fair, will continue its comedic regression at Slim's (333 11th St., San Francisco) on Wednesday, Feb. 3. 8 p.m., $16.
