Re: “Emeryville's Pushcart War

There are definitely a number of mobile vendors available which is a wonderful service. Not only is it a delicious and convenient way to eat, mobile food vending is a national craze. Most major metropolitan cities are reeping the benefits by servicing residents/customers, collecting fees for operation as well as all applicable taxing. Obviously it's increasingly becoming more popular within the last couple of years and as a result both the city and state are benefitting greatly by mobile vendors. The latest TV series aired on the Food Network, "the Great Food Truck Race" just exemplifies how widely accepted this type of food service has become, and how gourmet it has evolved into as well. So for those of you concerned about image and "riff-raff" I'd have to say that your opinion of food trucks is about as outdated as your lingo. Food trucks are creating a food revolution far beyond the concept of the age old taco truck. Just because you're reluctant to open your mind to what can be offered doesn't mean it's ok to fight it away.
