The trustee charged with settling debts incurred by the Black Muslim Bey family has proposed a compromise that could leave one of the family's remaining matriarchs with one of the properties at the corner of San Pablo Avenue and Stanford. According to the Oakland Tribune, Daulet Bey would hand over the deeds to two properties at the corner, and if Trustee Tevis Thompson can sell the more valuable one quickly and settle the outstanding debts, the remaining property will be returned. If not, both properties are forfeit. The Bey family owns roughly $1.1 million in debt; Daulet Bey's son Yusuf Bey IV is in jail facing charges that he and his followers kidnapped and tortured two women.
