Thursdays 6 - 7:30pm 9/24 - 12/3 (9 weeks) no class 10/1 and 11/26. Please note: This course will be conducted live via video conferencing. A computer or other device with a webcam and microphone and a reliable internet connection is required. Log-in information will be sent to students before the first class meeting! A 9-part class exploring the role of Black Music during freedom movements in the United States. From Harriet Tubman to Black Lives Matter, each class will include discussion and inquiry, recordings, video clips, photos and charts, and live performance. Instructor: Marcus Shelby
