Black Label Society

When: Sat., Nov. 20, 7 p.m. 2010
Price: $36.75

Part of a long lineage of bad-ass guitarists who've been in the employ of Ozzy OsborneZakkWylde was barely 21 when he first shared the stage with Sharon's better half back in 1987. Thus, he can now be canonized alongside the late Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee and Night Ranger's Brad Gillis,Two-plus decades later, Wylde has branched out in a number of musical directions, which include his one-off Pride and Joy southern rock project, a 1996 acoustic debut, and his main gig as the driving force behind the hard rock band Black Label Society. And while he still has ties with Ozzy that include major contributions to the 2007 Osborne outing, Black Rain, Wylde is now an imposing fret master (and Guitar Hero avatar) in his own right. He's currently hitting the road behind Order of the Black, the eighth BLS studio effort, and bringing personal music favesClutch, Children of Bodom, and 2 Cents along as opening acts. This week he'll swing through the Bay Area, bringing the noise to his berserker fanbase on Saturday, November 20 at the Warfield Theatre (982 Market St., San Francisco), 6:30 p.m. $42, $39.50.
