Best Shop Kitty

Pia at Comic Relief

Pia has been a fixture at Berkeley's best comic book store for fifteen years, nearly her whole life (she came into the picture when she was about six months old). The black cat spends her days lounging amongst copies of Ghost World and Captain America and, unlike other shop kitties who can have that oh-no-not-this-again reaction to attention from strangers, Pia actually actively solicits petting. Employees say people come in "all the time" just to see her, but if you want to visit Berkeley's friendliest shop cat, better make it quick. She's getting up in years, though she still has the spunk to jump up to socialize with comic lovers browsing the display racks.
