Best Place for Bangers, Beer, and Baseball

The Englander Sports Pub & Restaurant

No, the Englander Sports Pub & Restaurant isn't filled with tweedy types sporting motoring caps and idly conversing about the queen and her courtly entourage, nor is it a haunt for local hooligans violently hurling pint glasses during football (soccer) matches. In fact, there are few things seemingly British about the Englander (its tasty shepherd's pie and a hearty bangers and mash, available on its pub grub menu, stand as exceptions). And it is one of the few local sports bars where one is able to view an English Premier League match. If soccer is not your cup of tea, don't ye fret: Baseball, basketball, American football, hockey, boxing, golf, and just about any other sporting event more popular in the former colonies than in the UK are continuously televised on any of the Englander's 24 flat-screens. Yes, the numerous TVs can be a bit of conversational distraction (as well as make your pupils volley like a tennis ball at Wimbledon), but the real MO in coming to this sport maven's haven is to soak up one of the Englander's forty beers on tap while cheering for the A's or jeering at Man U.
