Sauce Pizza at the Cheese Board Pizza Collective

Cheese Board Pizza is, of course, known far and wide for its Cal-cuisine pizza: always vegetarian, often made with exotic vegetables, but, curiously, never with sauce. Almost never, that is, because as it turns out even the pioneers of the sauceless pizza crave a little lycopene every now and then. Enter the aptly-named "sauce pizza," served on rare and random occasions but entirely worth the wait: It's got all the typical trademarks of a standard Cheese Board pie, but for a layer of unctuous, perfectly textured sauce, vegetally sweet and a little spicy, prepared, as everything else at Cheese Board is, with love and attention and from high-quality ingredients. You'd be entirely understood for, say, visiting the restaurant's website daily and then dropping all plans when it happens to show up, but if you're a normal person, here's a pro tip: The recipe's also available in The Cheese Board Collective Works cookbook.
