Impact Hub Oakland

Broadway between 23rd and 24th Streets in Uptown Oakland used to be home to about a dozen car dealerships that made up the city’s Auto Row. Those businesses have faded over the years, leaving behind individual vacancies and a largely inactive block in a prime location. But in February 2014, one abandoned car showroom on Broadway finally re-opened to the public — this time as a transformed coworking space and business incubator at the center of the revitalization of Uptown. Impact Hub Oakland, which has attracted a diverse mix of members and organizations over the last year, has taken advantage of the former car dealership’s spacious layout and established an open 16,000-square-foot coworking site. Impact Hub is the anchor tenant of the Hive, an office, retail, and housing development project that will span the entire block by the end of 2015. With a wide range of spaces available for rent at affordable prices — in a building engineered to foster collaboration and creativity — Impact Hub is a distinctly Oakland space, and one unlike any other in the city.
