Best Bar/Pub Food

Buffalo Bill's

Bar food. The sound of it doesn't really make your stomach growl, eh? Visions abound of thoroughly average pizza, burgers, and various greasy staples. Enter Hayward's Buffalo Bill's Brewery, a brewpub you may even visit just for the food. It doesn't get too fancy, but it does offer a twist on the basics that's executed well enough to put it atop the pub-food heap. One of their Plowman's Board appetizer platters may be all you need to accompany a few pints from their ever-changing beer menu, what with assorted gourmet meats and cheeses, a little sourdough, and some fresh fruit. Or you might go for a wood-fired pizza -- Bill's offers some imaginative combinations in addition to the basics. There are plenty of wraps, sandwiches, and pastas, too -- check out the Aztec quesadilla, which combines mole sauce, chicken, cheeses, roasted onions, and marinated cactus. Bill's also makes a great salad with blue cheese and candied nuts.
