Re: “Still Seeking Refuge

To Sparkle: The sadness lies within your commentary. Whereas people like yourself still spout epithets like, "the US govt is in the business of bending over backwards for immigrants and refugees anyway at the expense of the American taxpayer." I think what makes me mad is the fact that most Americans feel like immigrants and refugees expect luxury and are looking for a "free ride." Most of these individuals are coming from war-torn nations as well as unstable political and social security. They're not looking for "Macmansion[s] and a Ferrari[s]", they're looking to have a chance to live their own life.

As a child of Thai immigrants and having a partner whose family lived through the Khmer Rouge, I am appalled and disgusted that there are people with such mentalities as yours to this day. Truly, this is testament to the lingering anger and xenophobia which lives in the United States and among us.
