Berkeley World Music Festival

When: Sat., June 5, 12-9 p.m. 2010
Price: Free

Imaginative programming and wall-to-wall live performances are both highlights of Berkeley World Music Festival, now in its seventh year. But the best part is Berkeley's creative use of space. That's a hallmark of a city that often has free jazz performances in abandoned storefronts, or outside of BART stations. During Berkeley World Fest, bands perform at BerkeleyArt Museum, Cafe Milano, Moe's Books, and Mario's La Fiesta, along with the more traditional stage at People's Park. This year's lineup includes Andean folk band Bamboo Peru, the Latin ensembleQuijeremá, Zydeco Flames, and the Afrofunk Experience. On Saturday, June 4.Noon-6 p.m., free.
