Berkeley Wine Festival Grand Opening Celebration

The two-month Berkeley Wine Festival begins with a Grand Opening Reception at the Claremont Hotel & Spa (41 Tunnel Rd., Berkeley) on Friday, Mar. 2. Up for sampling are more than 45 different wines from many wineries, paired with food prepared by celebrated East Bay chefs. Participants include Gather's Sean Baker, Cafe Rouge's Rick DeBeaord, Slow's Kyle Anderson, Wood Tavern's Yang Peng, Summer Kitchen's Paul Arenstam, Paragon's Marcos Sanchez, Kirala's Akira Komine, and the Claremont's Josh Thomsen. 6:30 p.m., $65.
