Re: “When Two Become Hudson

The wife and I had liked Garibaldi's, but found it just a little too formal for our taste. Marzano never seemed to find it's pace. So we didn't rush to Hudson when it (re-)opened.

But we finally stopped off for a night cap one Friday night at Hudson and were really impressed. I'm a cocktail geek and immediately was impressed at the concoctions that Alex Conde had created - not just the creativity (tinctures of tobacco and black pepper, for instance), but the presentation (order an egg drink just to watch the technique of Alex or Howie Slater) and the taste. We were back at the bar two more times in the next 24 hours! (And 7 or 8 times since then.)

We had our 9th Anniversary dinner there and it was fantastic. One of the wines we had was good but not great. Everything else was great.

I don't know if they were just finding their feet in the spring, but by late summer they were awesome and Hudson is our new favorite place.
