Re: “Why So Many Bisexual Men are Still in the Closet

I agree with Matt S' comment above. Except for me I have tried coming out many times over the years. My Girlfriend of 25 years knows and sometimes is cool with it, sometimes not. I've told friends and family before and they were accepting about it at first but over time marginalized my experience by either saying I was gay or that I was looking for drama. There is so much drama in my life already and I don't see why someone would think I wanted to purposely add more to the pile. Also, I am closeted about my lifetime of experience with gender disphoria and it seems like I have gone through so much pain in my life already because of both issues that acting on either of these issues let alone both would be, one- confusing for my loved ones and associates and two- would mean even more constant pain and work for me. I've chosen to hide because of this. I don't know if I'll ever really be honest and open with myself and the world. I want to try. Lucky I live in the Bay Area and have an understanding partner. Bi men need more visibility and I hate that I might be perpetuating the problem.
