Benefit for City Slickers Farm

When: Sat., March 22, 7 p.m. 2008
Price: $10-$30

What a pickle! At the Ecology Center (2530 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley) on Saturday, March 22, a benefit for West Oakland's City Slicker Farm -- which grows edibles on formerly empty lots, propagates organic seeds, sells low-cost produce, and educates locals about nutrition and backyard vegetable gardening -- celebrates fermentation with live music, a fermenting workshop, and a slide show about urban agriculture by UC Berkeley lecturer Nathan McClintock. 7 p.m., sliding scale $10-$30.
