Re: “Burners Torched Over Native Party

The amount of anger & hatred directed at people showing honor to others amazes me. It was indeed "good heartedness...and the absence of anything resembling cultural appropriation".

All should once & for all realize that it is the nature of cultures to interact, to change, that they aren't petrified and static. No on'e culture can be the same as one's grandparents, or one's grandchildren. The futile battle against cultural change ought to be left to the Taliban, etc. As Jefferson Airplane sang, "Soon, you'll attain the stability you strive for, in the only way that it's granted, in a place among the fossils of our time." Life is change, they also sang.

When the Hopi woman said, "If you want to be spiritual — go be a Druid or something", she was expressing the same opinion as imprisoned racist terrorist David Lane, that religion, that culture, is somehow limited by "race", an absurd notion.
