Barry Gifford

When: Mon., June 4, 7:30 p.m. 2012

Barry Gifford has written more books in more genres translated into more languages than most people even dream of. He's also worked with David Lynch and Matt Dillon on film scripts, but the award-winning writer is best known for writing distinctly American tales like Wild at Heart, his love-story (and continuing series) to the deep South. In his most recent work, Imagining Paradise: New and Collected Poems, Gifford picks his favorites from nine previous poetry collections, and includes new selections as well. He reads at Moe's Books (2476 Telegraph Ave., Berkeley) on Monday, June 4. 7:30 p.m., free. 510-849-2087 or MoesBooks.com
