Masterful Guatemalan weaver Bertina López Cumez will be demonstrating backstrap loom weaving techniques at this special event held at the Hearst Museum. Try your hand at weaving while getting to speak one-on-one with a talented artist and maker. Bertina will be joined by her daughter Melissa who will also be demonstrating. In addition to the demonstration, textiles made by Bertina and her community members will be available for purchase. While you're here, enjoy viewing the huipiles on view in the exhibit People Made These Things: Connecting With the Makers of Our World. Free with museum admission (hearstmuseum.berkeley.edu/visit)
