An enchanting, metaphoric, dreamlike trip through the desert (shot in Iran and Tunisia) by filmmaker Nacer Khemir, who relates the stories-within-a-story of a blind dervish named Bab’Aziz and his granddaughter, Ishtar, forever traveling and yet never arriving. Among the overlapping tales, the most flavorful is the legend of the singer Zaïr and his encounter with a woman named Nour. Khemir wrote the screenplay with input from veteran writer Tonino Guerra. Starring Parviz Shahinkhou, Maryam Hamid, Nessim Khaloul, and Golshifteh Farahani (98 min.).
