Re: “Does Don Perata Really 'Believe in Oakland' — Or In San Jose?

Losing the A's will be a detriment to Oakland economically as well as adding to Oakland's tarnished image. The A's have drawn crowds before by winning and bringing home Championships. A downtown stadium will benefit the various restaurants and shops in the area and attract more business. A site at or near the current Hegenberger location will aid in developing the blighted area. Check out today's SF Chronicle - Business Section!…

Re: “A's Fan Ejected for Heckling Lew Wolff

I agree 100% with the 3 above comments & Jorge Leon! To add...All Wolff wants is $$ and his baseball village to make his mark in the world of developers. Oakland, to him, does not fit since the $ is not here like it is in the South Bay. Clorox & Kinder BBQ does not cut it. Silicon Valley companies do. The economic impact report for an Oakland Ballpark came out today. Basically, it confirms my, as well as many, the belief that without the A's, Oakland will lose out on much tax revenue & jobs from not only the ballpark but the spillover affect. The 3 proposed locations are also near BART. BART is already in trouble with their financial woes. If the A's leave...

The A's are Oakland as Dellums stated with rich history. With Wolff only seeing $ signs, he is alienating all the fans that come from Northbay, the 80 corridor and Contra Costa County. This may be the only time that I am on the Giants side - San Jose is their territory!

Thank you Jorge for the signs - I have noticed them at the games. Unfortunately, my "rose colored glasses" are fading as Lew hates Oakland. Who's worse...Lew or Al ? Oakland deserves better ownership!

Re: “Oh Saucey 'Cue

Great place! I've been going to E&J's since the 80's and I beg to differ on the links. They are the best by far because of the grainy, moist, smoked links covered with the best sauce and eaten with wheat bread (I ask 4 extra). But, I have noticed that the nicest E&J at Broadway in Oakland has a different tasting link. Not the ones I enjoy in Hayward and Berkeley. Not sure why they aren't as tasty? But when I do go there, I still order them because they are not the usual "hot dog" type link you can get anywhere. Sadly, another downer is the usual mediocare to poor service at all the E&J's I've been to especially at the Hayward location. Once the location was out of everything but chicken and I still had the feeling that they were doing me a favor! But, when they are on, they are on which keeps me coming back. I'd recommend them to anyone!
