Re: “Though Oakland Is Up in Arms About It, Crime Is Actually Down

This is really easy to prove.

When Ignacio was running for Mayor, he rented space from the Unity Council. Same allegations were made on the STOP IGNACIO blog.

You can fake the rent, you can rewrite the contracts but one thing you can't fake is the utilities (unless PGE is on it). Have the campaign office produce utility bills from the last campaign as well as this one. Ignacio's campaign didn't even pay the parking.

If one cent of the utilities was subsidized by the Unity Council, then they will be indeed violating IRS tax laws concerning non-profit status. Show us the PGE and phone bills Ignacio!

These are serious allegations and audit should take place.

Another interesting thing is that merchants have been told to remove the pro-Mario signs on many shops on International. I know this is happening.

An Insider.

Re: “Meet Oakland's New Go-To Lobbyist

Mr. Gammon,

Thank you for your insightful investigative reporting. I've had my dealings with Plazola and this article paints a real picture of the man who was once De La Fuente's heir to the throne.

With the near recession and housing bubble, how much longer will these "real estate" deals last in Oakland? I wonder if the city is prepared to deal with this crisis. You have multi-hundred condo units but who will buy them? Will this be another Vegas or San Diego?
