Anne Helen Petersen discusses TOO FAT, TOO SLUTTY, TOO LOUD (with Lili Loofbourow)

When: Thu., Nov. 9, 7-8 p.m. 2017
Price: free!
Anne Helen Petersen discusses her collection of essays, Too Fat, Too Slutty, Too Loud: The Rise and Reign of the Unruly Woman. She will be in conversation with Lili Loofbourow. "What distinguishes our current cultural moment is how thoroughly 'unruly' women have come to dominate the zeitgeist." In Too Fat, Too Slutty, Too Loud, critic Anne Helen Petersen has written a catalog of unruly women: celebrities and other cultural figures who have been called too strong, too fat, too gross, too slutty, too old, too pregnant, too shrill, too queer, too loud and too naked for uncomplicated cultural acceptance.
