The police had enough to conclude that the boy was indeed harmed and not missing or lost. However, a DA will not take a case based on very little circumstantial evidence. From my understanding, if a prosecutor is to move forward and file chargers the circumstantial evidence would have to be overwhelmingly geared towards the stepfather. So far, you can convict the stepfather for lying but not for actually killing little Hassani. It almost seems as if the police have evidence (i.e.: street camares, security cameras) that the stepfather is lying about the circumstances regarding Hassani's disappearance. At this point the police are tight lipped but I'm sure their evidence is difficult to ignore. I hope this case gets solved so we can know for sure what happen to that boy.
