Re: “Ignacio De La Fuente Pushes Anti-Ranked-Choice-Voting Measure

I like ranked choice voting. No need to go to the voting booth twice and save money for Oakland.

Re: “Brown's Disinterest in State Parks

I am glad the recall campaign is over. It has been divisive and takes attentions away from real solutions that move Oakland forward.

The poll that Charlie Pine mentioned was commissioned by Larry Tramutola who was Perata's campaign manager during the Oakland mayoral campaign of 2012. As I recall, I don't remember Perata conceding to Quan's win. Tramutola only released partial result according to the Oakland Tribute. Without knowing the exact wording of the questions, we cannot judge the merit of the poll.

But it's interesting to note that the most silent council member, Kaplan is also the most favored one. As brainy President Woordrow Wilson once said, " if you want to make enemies, try changing something." Change is what Mayor Quan is doing. Some police members probably dislike the pension contribution and the greater accountability that they now face.

Re: “Tuesday Must Read: Labor to Fight Quan Recall; Council Pushes for Tougher Response to Occupy Oakland

Hi Charlie Pine
I know that you are one of the organizer of the recall. I would appreciate it if the "recallandrestore" website has a comments function. There's a lot of allegations made against Mayor Jean Quan that are not true. I hope to have the opportunity to have a productive conversation about Oakland and to find a way forward together.
