Documentarian Nanette Burstein (The Kid Stays in the Picture) visits the typical Midwestern small town of Warsaw, Indiana and hangs out with five students at the local high school — a rebel girl, a nerd, the campus social queen, and two jocks, all of them white. Hardly a cross-section of America, but they’re nice kids, and of course the rebel and the nerd are the most interesting and sympathetic. We can’t help feeling it’s a little too commercially contrived, down to advertising art posing the kids in an exact parody of John Hughes’ The Breakfast Club. An experiment in Sociology Lite (95 min.).
