I do want to understand the pain that voted him in and perhaps you assume that those on different sides feel the pain of not being able to feed their fsmiky or have access to the American dream that so many Americans seem to feel is lost. But hating others, wishing or even permitting violence against others is not a difference of opinion. It is a value that The US ostensibly stands against around the world. That is the pain the protest is about. It is not about a more conservative president. We have had many Republican presidents. It is big business taking over the White House, permissive hate as a legitimized political stance. I think the vote actually raised many people's compassion and desire to hear the suffering of those they haven't heard. But not hate, and exclusion - that's the protest.
