Alternative Tentacles 30th Anniversary Incest-a-Thon

When: Thu., Nov. 5, 8 p.m., Fri., Nov. 6, 8 p.m. and Sat., Nov. 7, 8 p.m. 2009
Price: $20-$22

Alternative Tentacles turns thirty this year. Of course, this calls for a party. Former Dead Kennedy's frontman and all-around punk godfather Jello Biafra will be headlining all three days of festivities with new band the Guantanamo School of Medicine and promoting its new album The Audacity of Hype. Other Alternative Tentacles bands featured during the first of three nights at the Great American Music Hall (859 O'Farrell St., San Francisco) include Citizen Fish, Star Fucking Hipsters, MIA (not to be confused with M.I.A.). On day two, Ludicra, Munly and the Lupercalians, and Knights of the New Crusade perform, and day three features Alice Donut, Victims Family, and Burning Image. Old punks never die, they just form record labels and help to incubate new punks. And the Bay Area scene is still going strong. Thursday, Nov. 5, through Saturday, Nov. 7.8  p.m., $20, $22 ($50 for three-day pass).
