@Hobart Johnson You're not getting it. The problem here is that it's rich people driving this political system and creating these problems. These factory farmers have used their money to rig the system in their favor. Sure almonds are healthy, ever think that maybe a more socially responsible thing to do would be to buy land and grow them in a place where it's environmentally sustainable? Sure it might cost a bit more money but the people get use to it. Further more at a time of record corporate profits, I'd say there's probably some wiggle room in there for big business to pick up some more of the tab.

There is something more important in this world than wealth: it's what you do with it.
