Documentary
Two legendary filmmakers meet when documentarian Chris Marker joins director Akira Kurosawa to observe him at work on the set of his latter-day samurai costume epic, "Ran." The meticulous Kurosawa draws from both Shakespeare and the filmic traditions of his native Japan as he patiently orchestrates large-scale sword battles and elaborate in-camera special effects. The aging icon also discusses his creative goals and the nature of his role as a director and storyteller.
Director: Chris Marker
