Rated R · 90 minutes · 2011

Surrealistic, in an agreeably stupid way. The former flatmates, now in their thirties (John Cho and Kal Penn), reunite around a typically absurd predicament involving a Christmas tree, Harold’s in-laws, Kumar’s fixation on a waffle-making robot, some Ukrainian gangsters, beer pong, a TV special starring Neil Patrick Harris (also very funny), and more dope per square foot than in any two Cheech & Chong movies. More laughs than anything in the Hangover series, as well. Written by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg and directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson. (90 min.)
