International Sherry Week at La Marcha

In Spain, sherry is often savored like a fine whiskey. The fortified wine gets a lot less love here in the United States, but Berkeley’s La Marcha wants to change that. For International Sherry Week, Nov. 6-12, the tapas restaurant will offer a special three-course, $40 menu paired with sherry, which includes bone marrow and clam croqueta, duck sausage, and braised pork cheeks with olives and almonds. There are also seven educational sherry flights priced at half-off. If you’re new to sherry, try the introduction flight spanning dry and sweet styles. If you’re already converted, there’s also the opportunity to taste rare wines aged for 30 years. True sherry lovers won’t want to miss the week’s main event, “A Night in Jerez,” which takes place Nov. 10 at Neyborly Poet’s Corner (2043 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley) with tapas, paella, flamenco performances, and lots of sherry
