Born and have lived most of my lifetime in Contra Costa County, with a stopover in Oakland. Fairly new to Alameda.

Re: “Alameda Mayor Trish Spencer Has Yet to Return Missing Funds

To the apologists,
To all who think that $100 is an amount too small to trifle with, (the mayor herself is quoted in the article as saying "We don't make a lot of money. One hundred dollars is a lot of money."),
To those who think that the city should just deduct the mis-deposited funds from the mayor's other reimbursements,

This then, is what the State of California, and myself, think of the matter:…

That said, my political side says that if the same misappropriation had been perpetrated by a progressive elected official, or a city employee who was a member of a labor union, this comments section would be afire with calls for their crucifixion.

Re: “Oakland Bus Stop Battle Continues, Outcome Unclear

This stop has been restored and is back in full service. The only difference is that it has been moved across from it's former pre-Sprouts location to 2969 Broadway.

Re: “Oakland Bus Stop Battle Continues, Outcome Unclear

There has been enough behind-the-scenes machinations around the removal of the southbound bus stop from 30th and Broadway. And yes, one organ of finance capitol has been in the van of delaying or all together preventing it's relocation or restoration.
Restore this stop now, and on behalf of those of us who use this transit system.
