Well, there is a reason the Raiders want to build on the existing footprint. Your looking at cutting down a good portion of the costs by not having to excavate. The hole is dug. That's what they're doing in Minnesota as we speak. Also, the south side of the parking lot is a no-go, because of the power lines and the airport connector. Look, it's all on the A's. They haven't made any effort to build in Oakland, and it's pretty clear that they're not going to under this current ownership. At least the Raiders have been in negotiations. If the city and Colony can somehow make the numbers work for a new NFL stadium, you cannot allow Lew Wolff to stand in the way of it.
